Meet Eric Slack, Senior Analyst

Since 2009 Eric has been a Senior Analyst, writing over 500 thought leadership articles, product analyses and blogs on a wide range of topics in the storage, virtualization and the cloud technology spaces. His coverage areas include scale-out architectures, virtual SAN, software-defined storage and hyper-converged solutions, as well as traditional storage and data protection. Eric has also written extensively on Big Data, object storage, flash, archive, tape and data monitoring / management technologies.

Eric has been a regular contributor for TechTarget’s Storage Magazine, writing feature articles on storage virtualization, VM data protection, file sync and share, converged infrastructures, evaluating SSDs, DRaaS, Big Data and other topics.

In addition to his work as a writer and analyst, Eric has over 25 years experience in technology companies. As a Sr. Product Manager at Spectra Logic, Eric was in charge of the company’s SMB to mid-range tape libraries. These systems were used mostly for small to mid-market backup and remote office data protection applications.

Eric was Regional Manager for a national storage integrator, managing the design and implementation of storage, networking and data protection solutions for companies from the mid-market to the enterprise. He has also held technical marketing and management positions in the digital imaging, telemetry recording, test equipment, PCB manufacturing and distribution industries.
