We recently queried some large enterprise IT storage architects about planned storage acquisitions in the next 12 months. The answer from one storage architect of a top-five financial institution was “ZERO, Nada, None. The CIO has told us there will be no new storage purchases this year; we must use what we have.”

This outlook squares with some recent third quarter 2012 earnings reports and industry analyst projections showing a slowdown in revenue generated by sales of external storage systems. Further discussion.. read the rest on Forbes
