Ready Nodes are Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) appliances based on VMware vSAN software-defined storage, vSphere hypervisor and vCenter unified management. This stack runs on x86-based server hardware provided by a number of different vendors, and also AMD’s EPYC CPUs. These companies sell the solution as their own HCI appliance products, each certified by
VMware. There are well over 100 Ready Node models available from approved vendors (most listed below) in various hybrid and all-flash configurations. See current datasheets from each vendor to determine which Ready Node configurations or “profiles” they currently support.
