VMware Tanzu Container Management – Product Brief

VMware offers a portfolio of container management and application modernization solutions, under the Tanzu brand. These offerings provide container management of both hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including operating on all three major public clouds.

Customers desiring integrated application modernization tools – and easy integration of relational database – will find a rich suite of services to choose from.

VMware is highly focused on assisting customers with professional expertise; the company is best-in-market for providing professional services to assist customers with creating and executing a Kubernetes orchestration and application modernization strategy, as a part of its multi-cloud adoption framework.

The company has integrated and packaged its offerings to address the requirements of customers with specific functional needs and at different points of the Kubernetes journey. The Tanzu portfolio includes unique functionality for Application Development, with the ability to manage productivity and governance of application development at scale with their managed service Tanzu Application Platform (TAP). This approach results in best-in-market functionality for customers with a VMware virtual machine heritage who are in the early stages of deploying Kubernetes, or who expect to never grow more than a few clusters: Tanzu allows these customers to manage their single (or few) clusters with known vSphere administrative tools. Tanzu delivers a solid offering for customers who need to manage a larger multi-cluster, multi cloud environment, but are able and willing to accept a managed service from VMware.
