Overview
Veritas purchased APTARE in March of 2019. The Veritas (APTARE) Storage Management Suite was the original product offering after the acquisition but was renamed to APTARE IT Analytics and again renamed in February 2022 to NetBackup IT Analytics. This is a set of products used for storage resource management in enterprise environments. Veritas is an independent software vendor with a management solution to provide visibility across the entire storage environment including heterogeneous storage systems, networks, virtual & physical systems, unstructured data, and backup. Veritas uses agentless data collectors to gather information that stored in an Oracle database. The suite of products accesses the database for analysis and reporting.
With the renaming of NetBackup IT Analytics and release of NetBackup version 10, a subset of the IT analytics software called NetBackup IT Analytics Foundation is included with NetBackup. The software may be upgraded to the full function suite with added licensing.
The ability to scale across global datacenters for collecting and reporting information is included in Storage Management Suite for use in large enterprise deployments. Information can be presented in customer of department specific views providing multi-tenancy capability.
Veritas has a suite of products with access to the common database of collected information.
