StorageCraft has been in business over thirteen years, starting as a backup software provider with their ShadowProtect offering. In 2017 they acquired Exablox and gained a scale-out storage solution with an object-based file system. StorageCraft combined these two products into OneBlox. In August 2018, StorageCraft relaunched OneBlox as OneXafe, adding new features and capabilities to create a converged primary and secondary data storage and management platform.
OneXafe is delivered as StorageCraft appliances (built with industry standard server hardware and commodity storage devices) and as ShadowXafe, a software-only appliance version. Using a software-defined storage architecture, OneXafe scales linearly, increasing capacity and performance as nodes are added.
The OneXafe solution is built on a distributed, object-based file system running across multiple scale-out storage nodes, fully integrated with data protection services. The system uses continuous data protection to store an infinite number of immutable snapshots, allowing online recovery of previous versions of files.
StorageCraft backups are SLA-based and policy driven and include everything from the physical and virtual machines – operating system, applications, settings and data – allowing for complete recovery of the protected environment. Restores of a physical or virtual system can be made to the same system or a new one of either type.
