Rakuten Symphony Symworld Cloud Native Storage (CNS) provides block and file storage that supports any Kubernetes platform.
Symworld CNS was originally launched as Robin CNS by startup Robin.io in 2019. Japanese telco firm Rakuten Symphony acquired Robin.io in 2022 and re branded the product under the Symworld Cloud banner. Rakuten Symphony describes Symworld as an operating platform for telecom service providers.
CNS is sold as a standalone product or as part of the Symworld Cloud Native Platform (CNP), which also includes virtual networking and application workflow automation built on Kubernetes. CNP, CNS and Symworld Orchestrator – a multi-data center orchestration and automation platform – make up the Symworld Cloud Edge portfolio.
Along with the Symworld CNP Kubernetes distribution, Symworld CNS supports Red Hat OpenShift, Rancher Kubernetes Engine, managed Kubernetes such as Azure AKS, AWS EKS, Google GKE, and IBM IKS, and on-prem Google Anthos. It installs natively as a Kubernetes operator and supports bare metal and virtual
machine infrastructures.
