The Nimble AF Series Arrays are a family of custom designed flash storage systems for general-purpose shared storage. The AF series is built on the same software base as the CS series which supports both flash and HDDs as hybrid systems. Current models of the AF series include AF3000, AF5000, AF7000 and AF9000. The AF9000 can be clustered in a four-node system. Nimble AF systems provide block access over FC or iSCSI connectivity.

The Nimble Storage AF Series of solid-state technology storage systems are all-flash systems that complement the previous CS systems that used flash storage as a read cache with spinning disk as backing store. They systems provide block storage with advanced enterprise features for data protection, data reduction, and performance optimization. The models vary in the amount of NVRAM, CPU, DRAM, and Flash SSDs.
The Nimble Storage AF Series use standard server hardware and NAND Flash SSDs. A base system has 48 SSDs in the first enclosure and options to add addition enclosures – either one or two depending on the model.
