NetApp Cloud Manager is a SaaS based solution for management of NetApp systems both on-premises and in the cloud. Cloud Manager supports NetApp ONTAP systems including Azure NetApp Files, Amazon FSx for ONTAP, Cloud Volumes Service for AWS, Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud, and on-premises NetApp ONTAP systems.

Cloud Manager provides a number of data management capabilities including storage deployment, visualization, security, and governance. The software acts as the control plane for NetApp’s Cloud Volumes Platform and integrates with a number of other NetApp solutions, including NetApp Cloud Data Sense, NetApp Cloud Backup, and NetApp Cloud Insights to provide a number of multi-cloud data management capabilities.

Cloud Manager can be used to configure and deploy storage in any of the supported clouds as well as discover and connect additional storage from on-premises ONTAP clusters and cloud object storage services.

Data protection and security functionality are provided with integrations with NetApp Cloud Backup. Cloud Backup provides backup and restore functionality as well as replication and disaster recovery to and from the cloud. It additionally provides a security overview of the connected environment to provide insight and cyber threat analysis with the Ransomware Protection Service.
Integrations with NetApp Cloud Data Sense provides data governance and classification capabilities. Data can be scanned, analyzed, and classified, including sensitive data, to help organizations with compliance and governance. Cloud Manager also provides automated data workflows and supports integrations with NetApp Active IQ and Cloud Insights for monitoring of system performance, capacity, and availability.

Cloud Manager is free to use with supported NetApp products, however for most functionality a connector will need to be deployed in the cloud, resulting in an associated cost from the cloud service provider. Functionality provided through integrated NetApp solutions may result in additional licensing as well.
