The Huawei OceanStor 2600 and 2200 storage systems represent entry-level systems with the same functionality as the midrange OceanStor 6800, replacing the earlier 2200T system. The OceanStor line has models that differ in hardware configuration and in the number of enclosures supported and has additional offerings that target the high-end and mid-range segments. The 2600 is a scale-out system with up to 8 controllers in a paired configuration while the 2200 system is fixed at two controllers. There is also an all solid-state system, which is covered in separate ESR documents. All models utilize modular architecture, standard racks and enclosures and support 2.5” SFF and 3.5” LFF device enclosures. The OceanStor 2600 and 2200 systems are unified with support for block and file access.

All models run the same base embedded software system and support additional add-on software features. The Huawei OceanStor entry-level systems compete against DellEMC Unity/VNXe, NetApp FAS 2600, IBM Storwize V5000, Hitachi VSP G200 and G400, HP MSA, and other leading entry systems.
