The Huawei OceanStor 9000 Scale-out NAS system is a scale-out storage system that scales from 3 to 288 nodes for file and block access. The scale-out system is targeted at environments with very large capacity demands. The OceanStor system is highly configurable with different node types and with a number of storage device choices. An extensive set of additional software features are offered for extra charges.

The NAS functionality uses Intel-based servers with OceanStor 9000 software that includes the OceanStor Distributed File System. All OceanStor 9000 models utilize nodes with captive storage that can include 2.5” SFF device enclosures of varying numbers and different types of storage devices including SSDs.

The Huawei OceanStor 9000 Scale-out NAS system competes against Dell PowerScale, IBM Spectrum Scale, and Lustre-based systems.
