The Huawei OceanStor Dorado 3000 storage system is an all flash entry-level system with the same functionality as the midrange OceanStor 6800 except for file access. The OceanStor line has models that differ in hardware configuration and in the number of enclosures supported and has additional offerings that target the high-end and mid-range segments. The 3000 is a scale-out system with up to 16 controllers in a paired configuration. All models utilize modular architecture, standard racks and enclosures and support 2.5” SFF device enclosures. The latest version is the Huawei OceanStor Dorado V6, which improves upon the performance of the V3 models.
All models of OceanStor run the same base embedded software system and support additional add-on software features. The Huawei OceanStor Dorado entry-level systems compete against DellEMC Unity, NetApp AFF 220, IBM Storwize V5100F, Hitachi VSP F400, Pure Storage //x10, HPE MSA, and other leading entry systems.
