HPE StoreVirtual VSA (Virtual Storage Appliance) is a Software-Defined Storage (SDS) solution that creates a scale-out, virtual SAN with industry-standard hardware. It clusters hard disk and flash capacity, internal, direct- or SAN-attached, to create an iSCSI-based, shared pool of storage. Like other Open Storage Platform solutions, StoreVirtual VSA can be deployed on x86-based servers using commodity storage devices. It is sold as a software-only, shared storage system for use in traditional or virtualized server environments or in a hyperconverged cluster.
