HPE’s StoreOnce deduplication product line is used for backup and long-term retention of data. The StoreOnce Gen 4 product line includes virtual appliances for remote or cloud deployments and small to large size models. Additionally, StoreOnce is available as a backup-as-a-service (BUaaS) offering with Commvault backup software, delivered through HPE Greenlake.

All StoreOnce models support Virtual Tape Library (VTL) access, NAS access, and HPE Catalyst, an HPE-developed backup protocol that allows customers to store, replicate, and archive data to on-premises or cloud-based object storage.

Usage and Deployment

Primarily, HPE StoreOnce physical and virtual appliances serve backup targets for backup applications. integrated, disk-to-disk and VTL features
