GreenLake focuses on delivering HPE infrastructure on an as-a-service basis. As such, it is an integrated set of consumption-based financial and infrastructure support services focused on the HPE product portfolio. HPE PointNext services can be layered on top for a complete managed services solution.
GreenLake services fall into three main categories:
HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity – pay-per-use acquisition for IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, etc.)
Workload Solutions – managed services focused on data protection, SAP HANA, Database and Big Data
Hybrid Cloud – managed hybrid cloud supporting AWS, Microsoft Azure and Azure Stack
HPE GreenLake for Storage allows users to make the storage infrastructure procurement and payment process more like paying for public cloud services—a trend which is more in line with the way customers now budget for cloud. GreenLake packages infrastructure (hardware and software) plus associated metering and usage tracking and support services and makes the offering available to customers on a monthly pay-per-use basis. HPE’s PointNext services division can also layer storage and data management services on top to meet individual customer needs, delivering both infrastructure and services such that customers can acquire an entire managed services solution on a pay-as-you-go, consumption-based acquisition model.
GreenLake for Storage allows customers to scale infrastructure capacity up or down while paying only for the capacity consumed. Measured consumption is based on storage capacity actually consumed, . Automated measurement is enabled by the HPE GreenLake Central portal which includes metering and billing as well as other automated lifecycle management operations.
