HPE Announces GreenLake Lighthouse

On June 22, as part of HPE’s Discover online event, HPE announced GreenLake Lighthouse. Lighthouse is a pre-integrated, purpose-built hardware/software platform that delivers GreenLake Cloud Services. It allows HPE to deliver these service  on HPE pre-integrated infrastructure (Proliant servers, Nimble storage, Aruba Networks switches). It can be deployed in the data center, on the edge, or in a co-location facility and is managed via GreenLake Central. It can also be deployed as a distributed cloud architecture.  Future integration with public cloud services will be offered through GreenLake Central.

Lighthouse is a standardized platform for applications running in containers and/or VMs or on bare metal depending on customer requirements. Lighthouse will also support multiple GreenLake services/workloads from a single consolidated platform (containers plus VMs for example). Optimization occurs through the use of templates, validated catalogs and optimized blueprints. Workload orchestration is managed via GreenLake Central which also aligns resource orchestration and provisioning within Lighthouse.
