The FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) is a storage solution that allows heterogeneous server and storage attachment with a wide range of data services. Support for multiple storage protocols, including Fibre Channel (FC) and Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI), from the same storage pool as virtual logical unit numbers (LUNs) for servers is accomplished through the storage virtualization capabilities introduced with the NSS software.

The FalconStor NSS is a logical successor to the earlier software called IPSTOR. NSS contains a new implementation that FalconStor calls the Intelligent Abstraction engine. The advanced features offered by FalconStor have been integrated into NSS.
