Diamanti Spektra / Ultima – Product Brief

Diamanti sells a hyperconverged Kubernetes platform that can be software-only or ship on an appliance sold by Diamanti or hardware partners. It includes container management software, NVMe storage and optional hardware offload cards to accelerate performance.

Startup Diamanti began selling its container-native storage in 2017. Diamanti’s Container Native Storage (CNS) includes:

• Spektra Enterprise — Kubernetes-based control plane
• Ultima Enterprise — data plane
• Ultima Accelerator – turnkey HCI appliance with PCIe- based offload card running Diamanti software on servers from Dell or Lenovo.

The components work separately or as a package. Spektra and Ultima software are not required to run together, although Diamanti optimized Spektra and Ultima to work in unison. If customers are using another control plane such as Red Hat OpenShift, that control plane can manage Ultima software.

Diamanti software-defined storage also does not require the Ultima Accelerator HCI appliances.

Spektra Enterprise handles container- and cluster-management. Its stack includes:

• Kubernetes
• container runtime
• operating system
• data protection/disaster recovery
• access controls

Spektra Enterprise enables provisioning and management of Kubernetes clusters hosted on-premises or in public clouds. The Diamanti Kubernetes CLI can be accessed through the Spektra console.
