Macomber from the Evaluator Group also encourages operating system users to be aware of cyber threats and to take all necessary measures to counter them: “Cyber criminals do not discriminate. In addition, open source software has some unique security vulnerabilities, that hackers will exploit, and often companies have lax practices when it comes to tracking and updating known vulnerabilities in the various operating system components they use.”
