Addresses evolving IT trends for enterprises building hybrid cloud environments.

Boulder, CO  October 18, 2016 Addressing the growth of hybrid cloud environments in the IT Enterprise, Evaluator Group is releasing new research to help IT clients evaluate solutions for web-scale requirements. While hybrid cloud has been talked about, up until the last 12 months, there has been limited scale adoption. This has changed, as mid and enterprise-sized companies look to new architectures that integrate with their traditional IT and public cloud solutions for data protection, archive, DevOps, new micro-service apps and other application areas.

To help IT clients decipher the options for hybrid cloud, we are expanding on three areas:

Open Storage Platform – Hardware: As an extension to Open Storage Platform – Software research that was released in early-2016, Evaluator Group is now announcing research coverage on Open Storage Platform Hardware. While most IT end users are evaluating Open Storage Platform software and purchasing the technology as an appliance from the vendor, there is a growing trend where IT organizations are building their own appliances. To address this growing trend, Evaluator Group will be releasing product briefs and analyses on Open Storage Platform Hardware solutions for organization looking to implement the build-your-own approach.

Hyperconverged: Adding to the hyperconverged storage research released last year, Evaluator Group is now releasing more in-depth coverage on hyperconverged solutions with full product analyses on Simplivity’s Omnicube and Nutanix Xtreme Computing Platform. These will be followed by analysis on VMware VSAN solutions and Hewlett Packard Enterprise HC-380.

Enterprise Cloud: Evaluator Group is releasing an Industry Insight on Private Cloud Appliances. These are systems used to deploy webscale environments, often with OpenStack distributions and connectivity to traditional IT and public cloud. This coverage will be followed by more in-depth reviews in Q1 2017.

Access to Evaluator Group research is available via premium subscriptions beginning at $2,500 for IT professionals. To find out more about subscriptions and to receive access to the Cloud Appliance Landscape Industry Insight click here.
