RDMA Over Fabrics: A Big Step for SSD Access
Blog by Randy Kerns
Shared storage access for servers has been the most basic requirement for storage networks. Performance demands for multiple systems accessing data continually increase due to improvements in compute and a desire to get more work done from infrastructure investments.
These demands have been met with technology developments to deliver storage networking and performance for access to data. The next big step function is with RDMA over Fabrics. Read the full blog here .

Evaluating Server Based Storage for Eneterprise Workloads
In this free report, we examine the performance of server-based systems together with software-based storage to find their price-performance levels, testing utilized SDS running on Intel-based servers. The performance was measured utilizing a virtual-server benchmark, with results that may be compared to other published systems. Test results clearly show that system performance and price-performance improved significantly by using solid-state storage media, and in particular NVMe accessed media.
