Short Description:
Analysis of the HP P4000 IP - iSCSI SAN Storage
Full Summary:
The HP P4000 G2 SAN Solution is a series of products based on the Lefthand Networks technology acquired in 2008. The P4300 and P4500 are IP-based storage systems using iSCSI with server-based nodes and attached storage. The P4800 BladeSystem SAN uses blades in a C7000 enclosure with management from BladeSystem Infrastructure tools. The integral software system used to create the IP-based block storage systems is named SAN/iQ and includes many advanced capabilities. When deployed, the P4000 is a complete SAN for block-based storage over IP using standard Ethernet infrastructures. Since its original introduction, the P4000 G2 SAN solution and the earlier Lefthand Networks implementation have been very successful at allowing customers to simply deploy and manage a sophisticated SAN solution in their environments.
