Evaluator Group verified that the HP D2D4312 exceeded HP’s performance claims, surpassing a leading competing system by over 80% during head-to-head FC VTL backup testing. With data deduplication appliances, restore performance is another important consideration. Evaluator Group’s testing showed that restoring a single data stream, HP’s D2D4312 again outperformed a leading system, restoring data more quickly from both recent and older backup jobs.
HP’2 D2D4312 system outperformed the comparable system at a lower cost, delivering 2x price/performance, based on list pricing. Based upon measured performance to claims, Evaluator Group believes that the HP D2D4312’s performance exceeds the performance of the competing system in real-world scenarios, including multi-steam FC VTL backups.
